ABOUT ME
Taylor J Stickles
I am a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island where I obtained a BA in Public Relations and Communication Studies and a minor in General Business. I am currently eager to begin my career in public relations and communications, and am always looking for new opportunities to grow professionally.
During my senior year I worked as the marketing and public relations coordinator at the URI Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies. I was responsible for building the non-profit organization's brand through social media, e-newsletter campaigns and special events, which often featured activists from around the world. Throughout my time at the Center, the organization's Instagram following increased by more than 50% as a result of the frequent, engaging posts I made.

I spent Summer 2018 working at FM Global, one of the world's largest commercial and industrial property insurers, as the public relations intern on the Brand Experience team. Each day, I was able to work on a variety of projects, both individually and as a member of a team, giving me valuable experience in the marketing field. I wrote news releases and bylines, pitched to journalists and saw my work published as a result. I worked on a variety of research projects and B2B social media campaigns, as well. Each day was different, and I learned something new every day.

During my junior year, I was a social media and editorial intern for the Harrington Media Agency at the University of Rhode Island. I worked as a member of an exclusive team to manage the Harrington School of Communication and Media's social media accounts and wrote articles that were published in the school's the bi-monthly e-newsletter. This internship gave me access to exclusive career-building events, such special networking opportunities and informational interviews with public relations professionals.
All of my coursework, internships and jobs thus far have prepared me for a career in public relations. I am a constant learner and am always looking for opportunities to grow as a student and professional. To learn more about me and my work, please visit my "Writing samples" and "Resume" pages.
